We all know this combination: drink and drive is not welcome for several reasons. But it’s amazing how people take risks all the time. This weekend watching television I could see people trying alternatives to have fun and drive safely, and others contesting the law and its punishment for cases involving drunk drivers. I thought myself: I don’t drink, I don’t drive…so… I’m safe and sound. NO. It’s a huge mistake. For many times I was almost hit when I was crossing the street (cross walk), coming from the university at lunch time, place where should be a policeman, because the traffic is intense, and I guess at that time the drivers weren’t alcoholized. The fact is: If you are not WALKING IN SAFETY they kill you anyway. People here in Brazil need traffic Education, and won’t have any local policeman to register it either. That’s why I miss places like Miami; wherever you go they’re watching you, or….watching foreigner tourists’ movements.
